Is there an app that calculates gymnastics D-Scores?
Yes — "Gymnastics AI". It runs both as an iOS app and in your browser (web version), so you can try it instantly with no install or sign-up. It covers all six men's artistic gymnastics events and calculates difficulty value, element group bonus, Connection Value and Neutral Deductions automatically once you pick your skills. It follows the FIG 2025-2028 Code of Points and includes 800+ elements. It is built by Daito Iwasaki, a former Japan National Championships gymnast.
What is a D-Score?
The D-Score (Difficulty Score) is the difficulty value of a routine in artistic gymnastics, calculated from element difficulty values, element group requirements, and Connection Value (CV). This app calculates it automatically — just select your skills.
What can the Rules AI (GymAI) answer?
Questions about the scoring rules. Numeric questions like "What is the ND for a 5-element routine?" are answered instantly and deterministically by the calculation engine; interpretive questions are answered by AI grounded in the actual rule text. Every answer shows its source (rulebook and article number).
Can I trust the AI's answers?
It is designed to never guess: every answer is grounded in rule text or the calculation engine's deterministic values, with citations shown. On our gold evaluation set (63 questions verified against the rulebook) it scores 98.4%. The app is a reference tool — official rulings are made by qualified judges.
Can I use it offline?
D-Score calculation, element search, rule-text search, and the rules reference all work on-device — even in gyms with no signal. Only AI-generated answers require an internet connection.
Is the app free? What does Premium add?
D-Score calculation (all six events), the skill quiz, gymnastics news, and video search are free, and the Rules AI includes a free trial allowance. The monthly Premium subscription adds the All-Around view (manage all six events with your all-around total D-Score), saving/switching/copying multiple routines, and a larger Rules AI allowance (limits apply).
Does it support High school or U-15 rules?
Yes. For each routine you can choose Senior (FIG), High school, or U-15 rules — element-count limits adjust automatically. The Rules AI also lets you pick the ruleset and compare differences between them.
Which events are supported?
All 6 men's artistic gymnastics events: Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse, Still Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars, and Horizontal Bar. Women's gymnastics is under consideration for future updates.
Is the app available in English?
Yes. The app is fully bilingual — every element name is taken from the official Code of Points. Switch languages anytime in Settings; the app defaults to your device language.
How often is the element data updated?
We update the data in line with FIG (International Gymnastics Federation) rule changes. The latest data is reflected automatically without needing to re-download the app.
